A shout out to the veteran members (and new....) from Gorath

Postby Gorath_Korim » Wed Sep 16, 2009 7:03 am

Well, it's been a LoOOoOoong time since I've dropped in on you all. Since dropping out of the online scene, a lot has changed for me (a LOT). Still working as a developer for a Health Care credentialing software company. Other than that, my life's been pretty much re-structured. I don't have much drive to play online games any more; something I thought I'd never say. But there are a lot of things I thought would never happen that have.

Anyway... I've re-registered my forums account. I look forward to hearing from those of you that remember me.

Gor, long long time no see. Welcome back. Lothar just started playing a little bit again. Dough, Chaos and Famine I think are going to start playing Aion next week when that releases and Beauty has been stopping in and out for the past couple years. Mith and a couple others continue to pop in and out as well over the years.

As for MMO's, just hasn't been a great game released in a long time. If you're not into raiding, then wow will get boring in short order. Warhammer, they didn't have a good system worked out to balance the servers. Age of Conan.....to many bugs and not enough content on release. And the list goes on so you're not missing much.

Might want to check out Star Wars: Knights of the Republic MMO. Looks like they are spending a ton on the game with all the voice acting, something like a quarter of a million lines of voice acting on release. Every quest, every NPC will have voice along with a great story line. Wont be released for another year or two (maybe even 3), might give you some time to think about playing another MMO.

Ohh, and StarCraft II comes out early next year. Not a MMO, but still a great game to play online as time permits with some old friends....

* Another ghost of the past sneaks in *

Hello everyone! Hey Gor.

I started playing EQ2 again about a year and half ago after being away from MMOs for a while too. And recently started dabbling in Champions Online. I may check out Aion but haven't decided yet.

*Wanders out of her cave*

Old folks represent!

So, I have'nt been playing anything really either since Warhammer turned out to be led by bad bad developers, they really could have had something.

Been debating picking WoW back up, playing my ol healing shaman, but so much has changed, expansion, more leveling, yad yada. How is the game as a whole now? Still fun?

Oh...and to the old people, who wants to join me at Dennys for a 4:00 dinner?
