Fan edited movies! All downloadable (tho you have to decrypt a DLC container file with something like http://containerex.info/ rather than install J-Downloader which is a piece of @#$#! anyways). They of course ask that you own the original film before you download.
My interested was the Big Trouble in Little China edit they did http://fanedit.org/369/ puting in the deleted scenes I apparently never kenw existed until about 10 minutes ago =/ i am a huge fan of BTLC!
looking at some of these edits, these guys seem like real pros, a lot of time and thought has gone into these projects, and im guessing some of em are in the movie business themselves. some of them ALSO seem to be able to get ahold of rare UNRELEASED footage that has never been scene before, to add to their edits of these films. cool stuff
if you want to see just what i mean, chk out there final STAR WARS IV: A new Hope edit page.... http://fanedit.org/517/ click on "list of changes: video"
156 of em lolol heres a few:
# 138 – The rebel command centre table now includes holograms
# 139 – The death star countdown clock & viewscreen is also a brand new updated display.
# 140 – The window at the back of Vader’s cockpit has been blacked out because there should be no window.
# 141 – Fixed issues where ships were missing in numerous scenes in the trench run when they should be in view. This includes both TIES & X-wings
and a user review snipit:
"Every laser in this film has been rotoscoped to look much more real. And real they do look. The first shot panning down from the starfield to the battle looked so much better than the Special Edition. It went inside and it actually had a longer corridor battle scene.
For a film that has cut and pruned so much, it’s amazing that it actually runs 7 minutes longer than its original time. But the subtlety lies in the fact that there’s not much radical editing – except there’s some amazing colour correction and a total remix of the soundtrack. The final battle scene of the film is the highlight."
